Originally, we'd heard the new Eno album was to be called 'My Squelchy Life', which sounded promising. Then it appeared, was entitled 'Nerve Net', featured a bit of Fripp and some guys we'd never heard of and we'd got used to the single, "Fractal Zoom", which seemed to be on the curve rather than ahead of it because it was obviously a bit danc-ey/5(52).

I am a huge fan of Brian Eno's "instrumental" offerings and "Nerve Net" is an interesting work where it takes a hard left turn toward more "funk" and "fusion" renderings a la Jon Scofield and/or Pat Metheney. Das großartige Album von Brian Eno von wirkt bis heute noch frisch und zeitlos. "Wire Shock" erinnert von den Strukturen /5(52).

The December remaster includes no bonus material on the Nerve Net disc, but does include a bonus disc with the original and legendary lost My Squelchy Life album, who supposedly was to be released in September , but as the release was postponed to February , Eno decided to re-edit the album into Nerve Net instead/5(32).

For the record, Nerve Net was not Brian Eno's first attempt at rock & roll. Not counting his time with Roxy Music, he also made several solo albums in the s that were clearly intended as approaches to pop music -- they were sideways approaches, of course, shaped by the intellectual distance he has always kept between himself and the music that arises from the forces that he puts into.
